ProMag1With my Century C93 (HK93 clone) back in action, I decided it was time to try out ProMag’s polymer magazine. I ordered one for this test from RobertRTG for $14.95.

Some people have experienced problems with their C93 and the ProMag magazines.  Century International Arms is notorious for the inconsistent build quality of the C93 and many people find that the ProMag magazines will not lock in.  A few years ago I tried the MKE magazines and could never get them to work, so my expectations were low.

ProMag2If you have a C93 and the ProMag magazines will not lock into the mag well then extend the magazine’s mag catch slot.  Use a dremel and remove material a little at at time in the area highlighted in the adjacent photo.  Remove a little at a time and check the fit.  Repeat until it works. This video demonstrated the process.

My C93 recently had a complete rebuild by Jeff at Parabellum Combat Systems and as a result, the ProMag magazine fit perfectly in my rifle. I ran 90 rounds through it from various manufacturers – including my own reloads – and had zero problems.

It’s nice to have a source of inexpensive magazines for this fun-to-shoot rifle.
